Historical Questions

1. How old were Efraim Diveroli and David Packouz when they reunited?

Efraim was 19 when the two reunited in November of 2005.  David was 23 when this happened.  The movie states that they are the same age which is incorrect.  As well as the actors are much older than the people playing as because either of them are 30+ years of age.

3. Was David Packouz truly a massage therapist when he started working with Efraim?

Yes indeed David Packouz was massage therapist in Miami, Florida when Efraim asked him to join AEY.  This led to funny movie scenes because Efraim would make fun of David because of his past occupation.

5. Did Efraim really shoot a machine gun in the street because of a weed deal?

No, this is actually not true.  Although it is a very funny part of the movie it is not historically accurate.  In the movie Diveroli shoots a machine gun in the street to scare the drug dealer but t his is a Hollywood moment that has been made up.

7. Was there really a website that the US government would post weapon contracts for public bidding?

Yes, as a matter of fact this website is very real.  It was released by the US so that companies can bid on the contracts.  You can even still go on the website at fbo.gov.

9. Were there any other friends that worked with the two that were not in the movie?

Yes there was another friend not in the film.  His name is Alex Podrizki.  He was the head guy and Albania and was the actual guy that found out the ammo was Chinese. 

2. Did Efraim and David actually move into the same apartment complex?

Yes, the two moved into the same apartment complex known as the Flamingo.

4. Is War Dogs really as action packed as it was in real life?

No, most of the action packed scenes in the movie were made up for Hollywood.  Yes the two did travel but they never went through the Triangle of Death in Iraq, as a matter of fact they  never even went to Iraq.

6. Did Efraim and David actually smoke weed often?

Yes, the two would often smoke weed while they would work.  They would be finding government contracts and smoke weed at the same time.

8. How big was the Afghan deal the two got?

The deal was ctually worth $298-300 million.  The deal was for AK-47 ammo, grenades and much more.  They needed to be serviceable without qualification which the two did not do.

10. Was David Packouz ever really kidnapped or roughed up?

No, this part of the movie was made up and is not historically accurate.  David has never been kidnapped and the scene was added for some action.
